Our Mission

The Charlie Parker Memorial Foundation was originally founded in 1971 by the gifted Kansas City musician Eddie Baker. His love of music and strong conviction to provide education to young musicians was the spark that would become the Charlie Parker Memorial Foundation. His dedication to cultivate talent and share his love of Kansas City's great music tradition with youth is our inspiration and we wish to honor his legacy in our work for the foundation today.

What We Do

KC Arts Outreach is part of the Charlie Parker Memorial Foundation. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free and low cost music arts education to underserved areas in Kansas City's Urban Core. We provide half hour individual lessons in piano, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, double reads and various stringed instruments to name a few... We also have a Jazz Band that meets weekly and performs regularly.  Our Staff is comprised of some of Kansas City's top musicians, performing and working on their own music projects in addition to teaching lessons.
